At Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home. Our unique affordable financing model, paired with hands-on support, empowers families to build brighter futures through homeownership.

Whether it’s through building a home alongside volunteers, taking financial education courses, or receiving long-term support, we partner with families every step of the way. Habitat doesn’t give away houses—we offer affordable mortgages to qualifying families, allowing your monthly payments to directly help other families in need.

Applications will be reviewed and approved on a rolling, first-come, first-serve basis. Decisions for upcoming opportunities are expected by early March 2025.

Homeownership Program

Our Homeownership Program will give you the knowledge you need to buy a home with confidence.

 

Classes include understanding your credit score, how to save for a down payment, budgeting for home repairs, what to expect at a home closing, and more. 

Ongoing Support

As a Habitat homeowner, you'll receive maintenance advice, helpful resources, and opportunities to connect with other Habitat homeowners.

Families are selected based on a number of criteria.

Goodhue County Habitat for Humanity will help you learn to budget your income, understand the responsibilities of homeownership, and provide home care advice and tips.

When the application window is open, families can apply for consideration. Applications include proof of income, current housing details, and other documentation to confirm eligibility.
